Platform Sydney Australia Platform - Sydney Australia

About Us

Established for 25 years, Platform is an international fashion and commercial model agency based in Sydney, Australia. From 13 to 30, our models range from fresh-faced, exciting and modern, to mature, sophisticated and worldly. Some have an “edge”; all have a contemporary look. They’re in demand for editorials, advertising, runway, catalogues, TV commercials and beauty shoots, in Australia and overseas.

Platform is committed to quality, service and integrity. Our management team has deep experience of the business, often anticipating client needs before they’re verbalised. We are close to our models, sensitive to individual personalities and expert at spotting new talent, nurturing it to full potential. Jennifer Hawkins and Sonia Kruger are just two examples.

History………………………………..

PLATFORM began in 1987 as Gordon’s models, the fashion division of The Gordon Management Group (GMG). The other established divisions are Cute Kids and Spectrum (formerly Real Faces). Then based in Double Bay, it rapidly grew to join Sydney's elite group of model agencies.

GMG moved to larger premises in 1996. Soon after, Gordon's Models was updated to become PLATFORM. PLATFORM has since grown in size and stature to represent some of Sydney's most successful models.

In 2002 the Group moved to Bondi Junction; between the city and Bondi Beach - the home of Sydney's creative talent. Bondi Junction is now the fashion hub of the Eastern Suburbs with Chanel, Zara, Tiffany, TopShop, Armani, and all the global brands at Westfield across the road from the agency.

Gordon Charles – Managing Director

Gordon has 40 years in the industry, starting as a model at 19. After four years in Sydney as a model, actor and dancer he travelled to London in 1972, and modelled in fashion shows, catalogues, magazines and TV commercials around Europe.

He returned to Sydney in 1975 to continue modelling, working in television, movies and stage shows. From 1976 to 1992 he was Australia's most prolific producer of fashion shows: over 250 for large companies like The Australian Wool Corporation, Westfield, Dupont, Myer/Grace Bros, David Jones, The Australian Fashion Awards, fashion trade fairs, designers Carla Zampatti, Brian Rochford, Covers, and many more.

From 1987 Gordon became immersed in managing The Gordon Management Group of agencies: Platform, Cute Kids, and Spectrum.
